Uuuh, let's see what we have here: a Car that's pronounced like the french word for "sky" - Ciel - remember the blue sky, open roads and wind blowing through your hair ...
... but all this is first of all a nice dream. Presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show Cadillac shows us a a new open-air grand-touring four-seat convertible called "Ciel", pronounced "C-L", like sky in French.
“Large, expressive luxury is innate to Cadillac and the Ciel recalls that heritage, while suggesting where the brand can go in the future,” said Clay Dean, global design director for Cadillac. “Authentic luxury is driven by experiences, not just products, and Ciel is about the experience of the journey.”
The Concept was already unveiled at Pebble Beach in California, the same place that inspired the designers - the natural beauty of the California coast. Very nice is also the 3.6-liter Direct Injection V-6 engine, paired with a hybrid system using lithium-ion battery technology.
Italian Olive wood, machined aluminum and hand-tipped leather are elements that flow through the interior, complementing the primary colors with warm, rich tones. As there is no B-pillar the exterior design line flows in one line from the front to the back. Great work by Niki Smart, the lead exterior designer.
Through a wheelbase of 125 inches you have a generous space inside, 22-inch rims, a unique running light graphic on the front, carbon ceramic brakes and hidden connectivity portals for each person in the vehicle (for example uploading photos to social media networks, echecking E-Mails and so on)
