PMS12 Recap

Now, as the Geneva Motor Show is just around the corner (less than one week for the first media Day, a bit over a week for the private visitors), why not a Paris Motor Show Recap which took place in September 2012?

Although there was a great deal to look at during the two weeks in which the Paris motor show took place, British car website, VCARS, wrote a piece on ten reasons to visit the show, before anyone had seen them, but now that they have all been unveiled, how do these motors scratch up compared to what was said about them in the first place? Did they surprise or disappoint our expectations?

1: McLaren P1
Indeed a great Car. And today McLaren just announced the Specs and the Price of their new Hypercar:  A 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine plus a highly effective electric motor create 916PS (903 bhp) and a maximum torque figure of 900Nm. The electronically limited Top speed is at 350 km/h (218 mph).

2: Volkswagen Golf 7
Indeed, the Golf 7 is longer and roomier. But the innovations for a REAL NEW model are missing. But it's a Golf. An affordable  Car for every mankind.

3: The next generation Ford Mondeo
By featuring the brilliant 1,0l Ecoboost engine there can't go anything wrong with this model!

4: Mini Countryman Coupé
Phew, Mini .. in my eyes the most-gay-vehicle on this Planet. But wait, a 4WD and 184 hp with the Cooper S ... this could really change my mind.
5: 3-door Kia’s Cee’d hatchback
Kia is lately doing really a good job on designing aesthetic models.
The 3-door Cee'd hatch is definitely one of them!

6: Ford Fiesta
With the help of "My Key" parents will love the new Fiesta. Thanks to MyKey THEY can decide on how fast their Kid is able to drive, set the maximum loudness etc. etc.

7: Range Rover
The new Ranger Rover, a classic itself, hasn’t changed much to stay true on itself.

8: Peugeot 208 GTi
A sporty and small Frenchmen, what else? ;) You might be surprised how much sportiness they can pack into such a small vehicle.
9: Jaguar F-Type
Finally a Jaguar that compete to the legendary and vintage E-Type! Can't wait to see it on public Roads.

10: Chevrolet Trax
Also known as the Opel Mokka. Another Style-SUV that causes great delight in its buyer’s minds.

ACTIVE BODY CONTROL (ABC)Subfunction of the suspension system MAGIC BODY CONTROL. The Mercedes-Benz ABC suspension has four suspension struts with hydraulic cylinders to set the force individually in each suspension strut, thus all but completely eliminating the lifting, rolling and pitching motion of the vehicle body. Various acceleration sensors send information about the current driving situation to the control unit which, in turn, compares this information with the data received from the pressure sensors in the suspension struts and the level sensors on the axle links. Based on the results of this comparison, the system calculates control signals which are then converted into precisely measured oil flows by servohydraulic values at the front and rear axle.
