Hey Guys

Audi will do something revolutionary for this years Frankfurt Motor Show starting on September 12 for the general Public.

“In Frankfurt, we will experience an impressive demonstration of what distinguishes an Audi trade fair appearance. Turning expectations upside down, ensuring that 'Wow' effect – with this year's concept, we are taking the next step,” says Luca de Meo, Member of the Board of Management for Sales at AUDI AG. “The attention to detail shows that the Audi building at the IAA 2013 will reflect the brand's aspirations with respect to design and technology.”

The exterior of the building, shaped like a cube, is intentionally designed in a reduced and light way. With its mirrored, four-meter-high pedestal, it appears to float over the Agora, the Frankfurt exhibition center's central open space. This is the same site where Audi had a brand exclusive temporary building for the first time at the last IAA in 2011.

Inside, projections and a total of 11.2 million LED pixels will display the “hanging cities” and bring diverse urban scenarios to life. Mirrored surfaces on the floor and ceiling infinitely extend the urban landscapes and establish a relationship between them and the Audi models on display. The result is an impressive world of experiences offering the visitor a constant stream of new perspectives on the diversity of tomorrow's urban mobility.

Construction of the Audi pavilion already began mid-July. Over the course of the seven-week construction period leading up to the first press day on September 10, about 2,300 square meters of mirrored surfaces and 150 kilometers of cable will be laid. That way, 3,400 square meters of total floor space will become the stage for the stars of the show: 28 automobiles with the four rings.

The 65th International Motor Show will open its doors to visitors in Frankfurt am Main from September 12 – 22, 2013. During the IAA 2011, Audi welcomed more than 800,000 visitors.

ACTIVE BODY CONTROL (ABC)Subfunction of the suspension system MAGIC BODY CONTROL. The Mercedes-Benz ABC suspension has four suspension struts with hydraulic cylinders to set the force individually in each suspension strut, thus all but completely eliminating the lifting, rolling and pitching motion of the vehicle body. Various acceleration sensors send information about the current driving situation to the control unit which, in turn, compares this information with the data received from the pressure sensors in the suspension struts and the level sensors on the axle links. Based on the results of this comparison, the system calculates control signals which are then converted into precisely measured oil flows by servohydraulic values at the front and rear axle.
